This is an questioning around women imperfections and the lack of indulgence that women have themselves.

At that time, I could say about myself that two things define me : my body complexes (like all young lady of 20 years old) and my exuberance. I think it’s those two subjects I’ve tried to experiment in my diploma subject : « Bien dans mon corps, bien dans mes baskets ». Literally : » Well in my body, well in my sneakers » which is a French expression to say « be in your element ».
Cellulite, stretch marks, spots or wrinkles are part of our daily life. But we try desperately to make these imperfections removed, because the modern society tells us that a perfect skin is a smooth skin and leads us to get such a skin.
Making our defects really visible until being unbearable, overexposing our cellulite, our spots, our rolls of fat… If we expand the natural state, would the excess reduce these imperfections?
I want to draw the attention on the fact that the skin is not perfectly smooth, as it is alive, it moves, it changes depending on the weather, seasons, the age or the emotions. The skin is extremely expressive and can also be considered as a means of communication!
I translate these imperfections in combining really smooth technical textiles with technical handling such as puffy ink for impression, pleats or boutis, hand and machine sewing. I decided to alter the perfection of these fabrics and to expand these skin defects in textile samples.
It is a kind of soft caricature of our skin imperfections in order to better accept them and live with them.
